Hnací plyn v airbagu spolujezdce se může vlivem vysoké vlhkosti a kolísání teplot znehodnotit. V případě nehody, při níž se airbag aktivuje, by mohlo dojít k uvolnění úlomků z obalu nafukovacího tělesa a zranění cestujících ve vozidle.
