Nesprávná montáž boxu předřazených pojistek může vést k požáru a ke ztrátě elektrického napájení. V případě přerušení kontaktu může motor za jízdy zhasnout, přičemž přestane fungovat posilovač řízení, systém SRS (např. airbagy), ESP nebo celá přístrojová deska.
