Kvůli softwarové odchylce nefunguje regulace lambda sondy (poměr vzduchu a paliva) dostatečně přesně a může způsobit, že úroveň emisí oxidů dusíku (NOx) ve výfukových plynech překročí regulované limity. Oxidy dusíku jsou škodlivé pro lidské zdraví a životní prostředí.
