Svazek vodičů by mohl být poškozen v místě kontaktu s částí sloupku řízení. V takovém případě by mohl nastat zkrat, který by mohl mít důsledky pro bezpečnost, např. deaktivaci nebo špatnou funkci stěračů, světel a/nebo klaksonu. Může také dojít k zastavení motoru.
