Za určitých podmínek může kondenzace vstupního vzduchu způsobit korozi krytu jehlového ložiska, čímž může dojít ke ztrátě vodotěsnosti mezi vstupem vzduchu a obvodem elektrického pohonu škrticí klapky a způsobit špatnou detekci její pozice, nebo zkrat uvnitř mechanismu. To by mohlo vést k zastavení motoru za jízdy.
