Dotčená vozidla mohla být vybavena plynovými generátory Takata, které by mohly umožňovat vnikání vlhkosti a vést tak k degradaci hnacího plynu.
Pokud by se airbag aktivoval, mohlo by to způsobit prasknutí generátoru plynu a vniknutí kovových částí do interiéru vozidla. Úlomky by mohly zranit cestujících ve vozidle.
Svolávány jsou modely Volkswagen Polo vyrobené v období říjen 2005 – srpen 2009.
